Built c.1918 by J.W. Hill, this Riverside home is a two-story frame vernacular architectural style. The home is near the John Gorrie Condominiums and the bustling Stockton Street commercial section.
The homeowners, newly retired to Riverside from the Washington, DC area, have spent their entire careers in the design and construction industries. They personally renovated the entire house, including rewiring and re-plumbing the house as well as underpinning the structure before they moved in. They rebuilt the rear addition and opened up the walls between the kitchen, dining and sunroom and renovated the kitchen. A master bath and walk in closet were seamlessly added in the master bedroom. Most of the interior trim has been stripped and repainted and the heart pine floors upstairs are being refinished. Outside, the owners added a new raised deck and patio in the backyard and perimeter fence.
The owners have enjoyed bringing the house back to its original glory and look forward to spending time enjoying the fruits of their hard work and their new neighborhood.
